Overview
Auditory processing disorder (APD) is a condition that causes a miscommunication between the brain and the ears. This miscommunication causes the listener to misunderstand the message coming from their communication partner.
What to Expect
Before testing for auditory processing breakdowns, an audiological evaluation will need to be completed.
An audiological evaluation can be completed at our office. Please reach out to schedule an appointment.
After the evaluation, you will complete a series of tests designed to look at how the brain decodes and responds to sentences, sounds, and words.
Depending on the outcome of the tests, strategies for improving processing are recommended.
